People don’t want freedom. They shout and yell, rabble rouse and scream for freedom, but they don’t want it. You know why people don’t want freedom? Because freedom requires fearlessness. It also comes with great responsibility. When you are free, no one is the master of you – which means no one is to blame for mistakes, missteps, failures and unhappiness. All that comes back on you when you are free. Part of being free is accepting the highs and the lows, the successes and the failures, the happiness and the sadness that arises as a consequence of your action or inaction. To be free, we must be fearless in the face of tribulation. To be free, we must be willing to take sole responsibility for our own lives and never be a victim.
